SO you know I'm a huge New Kids fan. If you're my friend on Facebook, you've seen my dual album collection of pics from last year's concert. And I just found out today through the Tulsa World that they're coming to Tulsa AGAIN, WITH Backstreet Boys, hello! In that article, I read this sentence, "Group member Mark Wahlberg went on to more hits in the 1990s with Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.” Uh, scuse-much? Marky Mark was NOT and is not in the New Kids. his brother Donny is. Please don’t be a music writer and post anything on a band you aren’t 100% sure is true. Seriously.
So, I email this letter to the World online:
Good Morning,
There is an error in this article http://www.tulsaworld.com/scene/article.aspx?subjectid=269&articleid=20110104_371_0_Twosup512800#addyourcomment.
Mark Wahlberg was and is not a member of the New Kids on the Block. His brother, Donny Wahlberg is. This should be corrected. Any NKOTB fan knows this, and it only makes your music writer Jennifer Chancellor look like an idiot. Call me an idiot for being a fan, but if she's trying to be informative about the New Kids and Backstreet Boys in order to post an article about them coming to town, she should get her facts straight.
Thanks.
Missy
And get this response:
Hi Melissa,The offending sentence has been removed. Thank you for pointing it out.You might want to note the correct spelling of Donnie Wahlberg in the story, as well.Have a great day.-- Jennifer ChancellorMusic reporter, Tulsa World
Actually, Mark was in New Kids, but he quit before they were famous because they were too bubblegum for him.
