Or, at least the first 40? I don't know...I’ve decided to start a life to-do list. And it just happened to level out at 40. Some are short term, like today or this weekend. Some may take a lifetime to accomplish. This will of course be amended from time to time as things are added and crossed off.
Some things, amazingly, have already been crossed off; namely:
See Def Leppard in concert
Become a mother
The rest leave me work to do. And these are, of course, in NO particular order…
- Deep clean my house (or pay someone to do it)
- Paint my kitchen cabinets
- Paint and decorate bedroom
- De-cat poop the flower bed and plant flowers
- Get custom frames for artwork that’s been waiting for it
- Complete my Friends collection
- Get back to Paris and my beloved Eiffel Tower
- Get to the beach
- Wear a bikini this summer (and actually look good in it)
- Find work that I’m passionate about (and can actually make a decent living doing)
- Buy a house
- Find a life partner that makes me insanely happy, on whom I can lavish all my silly affections
- Make out with said life partner under the Eiffel tower
- Make Julia Child’s boeuf bourguignon
- Make a quilt
- Make a mosaic table for my patio
- Get a pedicure, facial, massage, and *&%^$ wax
- Get a breast lift
- Make appointment with Nissan dealership to check on everything in my car
- Get a full car detailing, and probably new floor mats (i.e. dispose of the chocolate milk encrusted ones)
- Eat at the restaurant in the Philbrook museum
- Start buying MYSELF flowers on a regular basis
- Find perfect foundation and powder now that Prescriptives has gone under
- Go on a real vacation with my kids
- Make Bakerella’s cupcake ball/pop things with my kids...may need Ms. Teel's assistance (see S'Moregasms post)
- Go horseback riding. It’s been way too long.
- Sleep under the stars
- See Cirque du Soleil in Vegas
- Start taking dance classes again, tap ballet or contemporary (maybe when the kids are older?)
- Take at yoga class
- Get to India and kiss the babies
- Complete my doula certification
- Start and complete childbirth educator certification
- Go to a wine tasting
- Call landlord to fix bathroom sink, ice maker, and clothing rod in boys room
- Harass brother to build mantle for my fireplace
- Visit Courtney in San Antonio (must accomplish #9 prior to completion of this one)
- Finally get my tattoo, with big bro
- See Robert Plant in concert (already have my tickets J)
- Make out with a firefighter on the fire engine (I’m currently dating one…so this is actually a possibility)
One For Me is my accountability partner. I need suggestions on how to set goals of accomplishing these. But I will update you, my faithful readers (there’s like, what, two of you?) on my progress, and expect ample rewards for my execution! I like wine and chocolate (damn you #9!!!)…
Um, maybe a little TMI here and there but all of these seem doable. Especially if you got to France in the next six months. It could be lots o' fun....I'm just saying...

Ever heard the song that goes something like, "it's my blog and i'll write what i want to, write what i want to...you would write too if it happened..." Actually, the whole chorus doesn't exactly translate does it? Well, I figured if I can't be honest on my own blog, where CAN I? :) And I'm working on a variety of ways to finance a trip to see you and my niece and nephew this summer. Maybe next blog should be about those options...
