So, it looks like this saga will require three parts. After part one, came preparation for meeting the Robot Man (a.k.a. artist Eric Joyner). So, I bought my 3 year old, Aidan, his very own copy of the book, Robots and Donuts. I thought it would be fun for Aidan to see Joyners artwork before meeting him, and have the chance to pick out his favorite painting for the artist to sign. He spent days pouring over it, comparing robots, and taking inventory of everyone's favorite robots!
So, the night before, after bath time, Aidan was finalizing his pick. That blue Robot with the pointy hat is the one he decided was his favorite robot.
Me: "Which one's your favorite, bubby?"
So he used the post card that started this whole adventure as his bookmark so he could find the picture in a pinch when he actually met the Robot Man.
I so enjoy dates with my boys, and was looking forward to this evening probably even more than they were! I love splurging on the three of us and treating them to special meals at restaurants that aren't "kid" restaurants. Since we were already headed to Tulsa's Blue Dome District for the reception at my dear Dwelling Spaces, I decided Joe Momma's Pizza was the perfect venue for my date with my handsome little men. I love that the kids can color on the tables, and it's relatively loud in case of a meltdown!
Alec was so enthralled with his surroundings he could hardly pay attention to his favorite-color-red crayon!
Aidan was still studying his post card in preparation for meeting the idolized Robot Man. Bless his little heart! I'm in LOVE with this child!
Beer for mommy, Sprite for the boys. The Full Sail was delightful, btw.
The biggest side of kethup I've ever seen in my life. Good thing I buy Spray'n'Wash with Resolve power.
2010 Winter Olympics on the big screen. Could it get any better than this?? Every time a skier hit the air, the boys jaws were on the floor. So fun to watch them take in their world...
...and Alec was taking in fist fulls of ketchup. Notice the stains on his Spiderman t-shirt from the last time he did this...
Side note: apparently the "bump" is the new hairdo. No these girls were not related, but all came in together, all wearing the same exact do. Seriously.
Seriously.
Boys had chicken strips, but Mommy had the Golden Driller. See that white sauce oozing out? Yum!
Holla-lujah!!
We even made friends. Apparently there are other grown-ups in Tulsa who think Joe's is a great kids dining venue!
Now, with our bellies full, it was on to Dwelling Spaces for the culmination of our evening...
Love this...esp. the Bump Its, the Ski Jumpers, the Golden Driller and the fist fulls of ketchup! You are presh and such a great momma!! xo

Thanks! When I'm out with my boys, there are just so, so many magical and hilarious moments. They must be captured on camera and in words. Only thing i didn't capture were the 3 separate trips we made to the facilities. You know when you're a single momma of two littles, if one's gotta go, you all gotta go!
